Midwest Solar Farm Pollinator Mixture

This lower growing blend for the Midwestern U.S. was designed for planting within solar arrays where the minimum panel height is 3 feet. Grasses provide good soil stabilization and native forbs supply pollen and nectar to pollinators and monarch butterflies.

Showy Solar Farm Pollinator Mixture
Seeding Rate: 15 pounds per acre
PLUS a cover crop of Oats 30# an acre
This is your top of the line go all out showy solar mix. This mixture will give you a ray of color through all the warm seasons. This mixture will be maintained at 3-4 foot in heigh. Not only is this a showy mix but its an outstanding pollinator mixture as well with just a few native grasses added to it.

Basic Solar Farm Seed Mixture
Seeding Rate: 40 pounds per acre
PLUS a cover crop of Annual Ryegrass 12# an acre
This is a basic solar farm mixture that is primary of perennial grasses with just a hint of forbs to give a bit of curb appeal. This mixture will provide low maintenance to any solar farm with very few mowings needed through the growing season.
Perennial Ryegrass, Orchardgrass, Kentucky Bluegrass, Meadow Fescue, Alsike Clover, Medium Red Clover, Birdsfoot Trefoil, Blue Chicory, Oxeyed Daisy, Lancedleaf Coreopsis, Partridge Pea and Gray Goldenrod.
Grassy Solar Farm Mixture
Seeding Rate: 4# per 1,000 sq feet or 175 pounds per acre
Provide a 2' clearance between the ground and the solar panels. Mix formulations are subject to change without notice depending on the availability of existing and new products.
